Dear Fellow Rotarians

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord!

The Rogongon Project was our great pride and joy in the 90′s.  As the main club who was the proponent of the project we shared the honor with RC Metro-Iligan, who took care of Mount Agad-Agad.  A decade after the project I heard that RC-Metro-Iligan has already received a certificate of completion from RI.  I would like to see that we get our certificate too, that is, any of us has kept it.

Anyway my feedback on the matter has shown that the project is already through-meaning it is now considered accomplished and finished.  PP John Hansel I believed was the last President of the Club who recieved that communication from RI.  And it is but fitting that PP John is also the Rotarian who gave us hope and the vision to pursue a higher dream for the hinterlands of Iligan.  This is his God appointed destiny.

I am interested in that project where our club was heavily involved because we are today pursuing another 3H project with a bigger scale.  This time we are after the International H2O Collaboration of RI.  This time we are multiplying the benefits of our previous 3H project with Rogongon by 13 other barangays of the hinterland.

Let us not forget that the main purpose of the 3H is to teach our people to have a sustainable income generating program.  We are therefore in the mountains not to give them fish, we are there to teach them how to fish.

Let us therefore pursue the new endeavor with the same intensity and fervor we had with the previous 3 H project.

Anent this goal, our club must also move to increase membership.  This time we are gathering a team of people who will be our “Mountain Dream Team” -people who have the same vision and passion for the mountains of Iligan.  Any benefit therefore that we have gathered from the previous project let us all pour into this goal of doubling our numbers by year’s end.  The more hands we have the more we can do for the mountains.

I am therefore asking the club officer’s to sit down on the matter and strategize.

Allow me to proposed two promotional moves that will guarantee increase in our membership:

One is to come with an “Iligan-A blessed City” poster which we will circulate all over the city to bless it and to imbue it with a positive direction and declaration.  I will personally make the rounds in all the industries and the major government offices to explain our poster.  Blessings will only flow to our city when the Iliganon’s declaration for our city is positive and upbeat. We cannot bless the mountains of Iligan unless we start with our own city and the downtown area.

and second is to come up with a recruitment brochure which we will leave behind the offices and the industries that we visit in order for them to read and evalaute.  Let us make it attractive so that we get all the captains of industries into our club.  I am therefore calling the senior members of the club to be ready with their Rotary information for the new recruits.

By tapping the captains of industries we can come up with another project, which I am proposing-the putting up of the “Corporate Social Responsiblity (CSR)” Club which our lcub will champion-among the banks, the industries, the academic institutions and the market place.

Once we have the CSR Club we will be able to add more funds to our coffers.  I am therefore tasking our Director for Public Relations to form a team on the matter.

Any amount which we can tap from the CSR fund, I strongly recommend that funds be deposited in the banks of our members-Melfabs and Henry Go-their banks also have institutionalized their CSR funds-it is time to tap into that vast resource of their institutions.

God bless to all!!

President Aji
